Erasure investigates the physical and mediatized erasure of the Palestinian people: the annihilation of lives, places, and culture intertwines with distorted mass-media narratives that obscure global protests.
The work finds its core in the iconic images of flags, which hold an aggregating power – banners under which to gather and struggle together.
The choreography of flags stands out against the typical background of PNG images, while the audio takes on the task of making the removed crowd present.
The two very short video fragments are designed either to repeat over and over again while they are exhibited, saturating the acoustic space, or to appear as brief and inescapable fragments durings a series of projections.
